In a ceremony held in the Ron Hooper gymnasium, Coach Ron Hooper received the Queen's Jubilee medal for his significant contributions to sports in Petitcodiac. He has coached the boys basketball team since 1957.  It is said to be a North American record that he has coached in one school for over 50 years.  Friends, former basketball team members, Village Councillors, and the entire student body were on hand for the presentation.
